Success Story

I have a student in my class this year that is the most determined student I have ever had in class. He moved here from Haiti last year and did not speak any English. He was very determined to overcome this language barrier. He worked so hard throughout the school year and slowly became more fluent in English. He began second grade in my class and is completely fluent and more determined and competitive as ever. He wants to have the highest grade in every subject and always puts forth 110%. His determination and passion is amazing to witness and will always remain with me throughout my career.

  1. Hi Amy-

I'm happy to hear about your success story. I had a student from Haiti who came to me last year. His English was so-so, but began to improve quickly. He really took off when he began to read. Once I got him hooked on a book, he couldn't sop. He became a reading machine and within a few months had the 2nd highest in AR points for fifth grade. His dad would say, all he wanted to do was read at home! Gotta love that!

    Cute blog, btw!

    1. Hi there Marliss,
Thank you so much for the comment. I was happy to hear that both of us have had similar experiences with our students. This student of mine shines in anything he does. It's amazing to witness and I am sure you feel that same way.
I am going to check out your blog as well.
      Thanks again.
